Directorate Appointment

Pinnacle Staffing Group plc today announces that Mrs Lynn Young, aged 61, has been appointed to the position of Non-Executive Director and joins the Board of Pinnacle with immediate effect. 

Lynn has been the Primary Health Care Adviser for the Royal College of Nursing since October 1990 before which she was a district nurse in West London.  

During the last decade the major part of Lynn's work has focussed on the development of primary health care policy and practice within the context of health and social care reform. This work has included:

• the development of different Primary Healthcare organisations, 

• advising on clinical governance , 

• commissioning, 

• nurse leadership in primary and public health, 

• public and patient involvement, 

• the prevention of coronary heart disease and 

• nutrition and tobacco control. 

More recent work includes the development of the roles of Community Matrons, practice based commissioning, the future Primary Healthcare workforce, 'Commissioning a Patient - Led NHS' and , the White Paper - 'Our health, our care, our say'. 

At present much of Lynn's time is spent on Darzi Reform work and the provision of Primary Care in light of the recent drive to separate provider and commissioning functions.

Lynn also continues to facilitate work following the Working in Partnership Programme which had 13 projects, two of which were the development of nursing and health care assistants in general practice.  

In November 2004 Lynn was awarded an Honorary Fellowship Royal College General Practitioners FRCGP (hons) and now has a seat on the RSM General Practice Council.

Lynn is a trustee of the National Heart Forum, Acton Care Centre and, the registered charity Stand To Reason.
